About What Next?

What Next? is a movement bringing together arts and cultural organisations from across the UK, to articulate and strengthen the role of culture in our society. Our aim is to find new ways of engaging with our audience and visitors: the ever-expanding millions who value and take part in the cultural work that happens day-in, day-out up and down this country. To date we have done this through beginning positive, informed and inclusive conversations with each other and community leaders, politicians, funders, academics and business people. It started with leaders meeting for an hour every Wednesday morning at 8:30. We invited specialists to talk to us: community leaders, politicians, funders, academics, business people. Similar meetings started to happen in Manchester, Liverpool, Coventry, Sheffield, Cambridge and Cardiff. We work with experts when we need to engage with specific agendas, for example the Cultural Learning Alliance on issues related to education, learning and young people. What Next? is a movement, not an organisation or campaign. There is no central leadership structure and it is run primarily on a voluntary basis. You can get involved with What Next? by joining your local chapter

About What Next? Cardiff

We’re the Cardiff chapter of What Next? – a local chapter of a national movement to articulate and strengthen the role of culture in society. Formed in February 2014, we’re a group of people who work in and share a passion for the arts and culture; we meet every Wednesday morning at 8.30am for an hour. Meetings rotate around some of the key arts/ cultural organisations in the city; please check the agenda for details each week. Details of our next meeting will be posted on the homepage on or around Monday evening/ Tuesday morning each week.
